Come along to Centered Ceramics and create custom food bowls for your pets!
Attach or carve out your pets name, model and attach a portrait, or just apply your(or your pets) favorite colours.
Technique
The best way to make a pet-food bowl is using Slab Rolling, where we’ll roll out a perfectly thick piece of clay and you’ll cut it, roll it into the sides of your bowl, then attach the base. We have a variety of letters that you can use to imprint your pets name into your bowl or you could cut out and attach your dogs name on the side with clay.
Because of it’s simplicity, it is suitable for people of all ages and levels of pottery experience.
Glazing and Firing
Your bowls will take about 1 week to dry. After that they’ll be fired once, glazed, then fired again. The whole process takes around 4 weeks, but may take a little longer.
If, at the end of the workshop, you’ve finalised your bowl with no colour, we dip your bowl in a white glaze, but if you have decorated with our underglaze paints, we’ll dip the bowl in the clear. This dip glazing is recommended as it will give your bowls a smooth finish making them easy to clean.
Because of it’s simplicity, it is a wonderful pottery class to do with the family. Children under 12 are welcome but because of current class size restrictions must be accompanied by a paying parent.
